Jens De Vos

Based in Antwerp, Belgium

From the age of 13 to 18, I was active as a guitarist in several local underground bands and back in 2010 I purchased my very first DSLR camera in order to have my first go at creating a music video for a local punk rock band.

Word got around, more and more people approached me to create videos. After less than 2 years in which I created no less than 20 music videos, I decided to turn the activity into a full time job.

The first year as a self-employed video maker the bulk of my work consisted of making tons of music videos in the underground scene, but also some in the Belgian stream. Complemented by some corporate commissions and even fashion shoots.

In 2013, I created Panda Sessions, a music show on digital TV channel Belgacom TV. The show featured live studio sessions and interviews, hosting in total 30+ different artists. The show ran for four seasons.

The first major band I started to work for was Dutch symphonic metal titans Epica, in 2014.
Epica took me in to join them both on the road as well as in the studio and in doing so gave me the chance to direct their music videos and capture their concerts.
This has been the catalyst to focus myself full time on the creation of content in the (mostly metal) music business while still doing the occasional job for Belgian main stream media.

The largest undertaking to date took place in 2017 when I shot and directed the DVD for Ayreon Universe, the project of mastermind Arjen Lucassen. It was a best-of show of Ayreon, including numerous international artists and this endeavor was captured with 30 different cameras and the result was distributed worldwide on DVD and Blu-Ray.

A similar concept I repeated in 2018 with American power-metal band Kamelot. This DVD is currently still in production.

A selection of my customers: Epica, Aborted, Ayreon, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Turilli / Lione Rhapsody, Danko Jones, Evil Invaders, Lacuna Coil, Diablo Blvd., Carnation, The Ocean, King Hiss, Izegrim and many many more!
